Why we chose Waldorf – Montessori
Our program is Waldorf – Montessori inspired because we blend two of the best educational systems in the world and create a unique educational system that is child-centered and aims to enhance the potential future for children who join our program.
We choose Waldorf – Montessori because of these similarities:
- Both systems employ a hollistic approach that is child-centered
- Both are some of the fastest growing educational systems in the world today.
- Both have a solid foundation achieving great results
- Both systems have produced some of the most brilliant people from their list of alumni
- Both systems emphasize the importance of the natural environment
We choose Waldorf – Montessori because of these fundamentals:
While the Montessori and Waldorf education systems are both child-centered, they have a different emphasis. Rudolf Steiner created the education system for Waldorf Astoria workers in Germany. Being from a highly industrialized country, Rudolf Steiner created the Waldorf Steiner education system with a lot of arts and focus on creativity. Montessori, on the other hand, created her education system in Italy, a country with rich artistic history, and thus she place a lot of focus on math and science.
Montessori education emphasizes individual child learning to achieve higher academic achievement and mental training in mathematics and science. We add the Waldorf Steiner approach into our education because the Steiner approach allow us to also create a sense of community and belonging when children are doing art work. Whereas Montessori education wants to achieve higher learning through mental and mathematical activities, Steiner instills higher learning through art, music, foreign language classes, and drama on top of traditional subjects such as Math and Science.
Education systems’ alumni
The systems’ alumni speak for itself. Montessori boasts the Royal princes of England as their alumni, along with Jeff Besoz, founder of Amazon, Lary Page & Sergei Brin, founder of Google, movie stars such as George Clooney, Dakota Fanning, and Helen Hunt. No wonder that former president Bill Clinton and his wife chose Montessori for their daughter’s education.
Waldorf Steiner also has many notable families trusting their children’s education to the Steiner system. Wolfgang and Ferdinand Porsche are both alumni of Steiner, Miguel Forbes of Forbes magazine, Jens Stoltenberg, ex PM of Norway, and many actors, actresses, and musicians list their name among proud alumni of Steiner Waldorf education system. And that is our wish for children that join our program. For them to be the next world renowned artist, for them to be leader in industry, and for them to be productive highly respected members of society.
